Lazio have reached an agreement with Olympique Marseile over the proposed transfer of Matteo Guendouzi, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The contracts have apparently been checked and signed, and Ligue 1 side is set to receive €1 million as a fee for an initial loan, with Lazio obligated to turn the transfer permanent next summer for €12 million. There are €5 million more to follow in the form of achievable add-ons, as well as 10% of any future sale, all going to Marseille.

If everything goes according to plan, with no unforeseen issues, the French midfielder should travel to Rome today (Tuesday) for his medical.

In 2018, Guendouzi joined Arsenal as the Gunners embarked on a new project under Unai Emery, who had replaced Arsene Wenger at the time. However, his time at the Emirates came to a premature end due to disciplinary reasons. The 24-year-old midfielder had loan spells with Hertha Berlin and Marseille, before joining the Ligue 1 side permanently last year.
